How does Forma RF Skin Tightening work?

Forma works using bipolar radiofrequency to deliver thermal energy to the layers of the skin.
This energy starts a cascade of events in the treated area that results in increased collagen and elastin production.

A unique feature that InMode has developed is an advanced temperature monitoring system of the skin temperature called ACE. Through ACE, Forma has the exclusive capacity for prolonged exposure at therapeutic temperatures, which can be reached quickly and uniformly. ACE technology also results in a more uniform therapeutic temperature over the entire treatment area to achieve dermal heating that stimulates collagen and elastin remodelling by 34.7%.

Due to the energy being converted to heat there is a comfortable thermal experience during the treatment which feels like a warm facial massage.

Treatment Summary

Forma is suitable for all skin types and is appropriate for individuals seeking a non-invasive and a natural looking approach to improvements in skin tone and texture irregularities.

Commonly treated areas on the face include forehead, crow’s feet, upper eyelids, lower eyelids, nasolabial folds, jowls, smile lines and neck.

During your initial consultation your suitability for Forma RF skin tightening will be assessed including screening for contraindications and planning around other cosmetics treatments you might have had or are planning to have.

Some contraindications to Forma RF skin tightening include but are not limited to:

  • Pregnancy or Breast feeding
  • Electronic Implants such as a Pacemaker or permanent implant in the treatment area
  • Active Herpes simplex infection in the treatment area
  • Keloid Scars and dry fragile skin
  • Chronic health conditions such as epilepsy, uncontrolled hypertension, heart disease
  • Uncontrolled Autoimmune conditions
  • Immunosuppressive medication
  • Other active skin conditions that effect the integrity of the skin barrier such as active ulcers, wounds, eczema

Forma is a comfortable treatment with minimal to no downtime. Your skin may appear red or flushed following the treatment which will subside over a couple of hours.

It is recommended that weekly sessions are performed over a six-week period.

Unfortunately, as there are no safety studies you will not be able to have a Forma treatment if you are either pregnant or breast feeding.
