Laser Genesis

Laser genesis is a non-invasive treatment with no downtime that is suitable for any skin type. It is suitable for individuals looking to address the following concerns.

• Improve collagen production, hydration and overall skin quality.
• Soften fine lines.
• Reduce pore size.
• Reduce redness.
• Fade pigmentation (depending on the type of pigmentation)
• Fade mild acne scars.

Laser Genesis is suitable for all skin types, even darker skin tones which may not be suitable for other types of laser treatments.

At B Cosmetics clients require a consultation with one of our doctors prior to having a Laser treatment.
Your consultation involves a full skin and facial assessment and provides you the opportunity to discuss your area(s) of concern and expectations. You will also have clinical photography so we can monitor your treatment outcome and progress.

A course of 4 - 6 treatments is recommended for optimal results.

Laser genesis is a comfortable relaxing treatment. The handpiece is held over the skin (without touching) and moved repetitively in zones to deliver the energy. You will feel a warming sensation over the skin which most patients report as very relaxing, like a hot stone massage without the pressure. There is no down time required after this treatment.

Slight erythema (redness/flushing) may be present immediately following the treatment, but this subsides quickly after. You can expect to return to your daily activities as normal after this treatment.

There are risks involved with all medical procedures. Your doctor will discuss all risks and contraindications prior to performing any procedure. Laser Genesis is typically associated with minimal side effects. Some people will have the following effects post Laser Genesis:

• Redness
• Mild swelling and or hives
• Mild heat sensation

Although serious side effects are rare with laser genesis, all energy base devices carry risks. Rare side effects include but are not limited to: 

• Burns
• Blisters
• Excessive swelling
• Pain
• Hyper - or hypopigmentation
• Brusing

Following your aftercare instructions and letting your doctor know of any health conditions you may have or medications you are taking will help minimise complications.

During your consultation your suitability for Laser Genesis is assessed including screening for contraindications. Some of which include but are not limited to:

•  Pregnancy or Breast feeding
• Active infections
• Recent unprotected sun exposure
• Fake tan
• Recent resurfacing treatments or light/heat-based modalities used on the treatment zone, such as laser RF, medium to deep chemical peels, abrasive microdermabrasion, and skin needling.
• Dermal filler in the past 6 weeks
• Wrinkle relaxers in the past 2 weeks.
• Broken skin
• Severe acne conditions.
• Roaccutane use within the last 6 months.
• Inadequately prepped skin prior to treatment
